Glue, wooden sculptures, paints and clay are at the mercy of the hands of the kids of Lotus House every Thursday night for Craft Night.
This past Thursday, Chapter Leaders Jessica Weise and Nick Zamora, led the kids into crafting wooden helicopters, boats and planes. As well as, making headbands for the girls, and creating clay charms.
Lotus House, a homeless shelter for women and children, located in Overtown, works alongside The Little Lighthouse Foundation to bring the children some time to be creative and expressive through their arts and crafts. The Chapter Leaders brought a instructional book on how to make charms out of clay. Several kids learned to make clay figures of food, animals and other objects. Some of the older girls spent their hour making beautiful headbands for their moms and themselves!
The kids, after successfully constructing their wooden sculptures, decided to bust out the paints and get fancy by giving their wooden vehicles some flair!
A HUGE thank you to our volunteers and Chapter Leaders, Jessica and Nick, for making Craft Night possible at the Lotus House!
